The Burton Chamber of Commerce is committed to providing accurate and up-to-date information to help keep visitors and residents in the know as our community joins with the rest of the state, nation and world to slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus. This page will be updated as new information becomes available.

We encourage travelers to follow the travel guidance offered by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other public health authorities.

  • Senior Ministry- Until it is safe to meet again in larger groups, our Friday Senior Fellowship and

    Meal continues to be drive-thru only. Simply call 979-337-3370 by Tuesday to reserve 

    your meal for the week, or put your name on the VIP list and we’ll automatically know

    you’re coming. Then drive through the porte cochere at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 516 North

    Colorado, every Friday between noon and 12:30 p.m. The meal price is $4.

    May 8 - Catfish strips, coleslaw, green beans

    and cornbread (Punky’s Kitchen)

    May 15 - Creamy Cajun chicken with pasta,

    May 22 - Chicken and rice casserole, mixed

    vegetables and dinner rolls (Bobbie and

    Candy)

    May 29 - Enchiladas, rice, beans and tortillas

    We continue our delivery service to the

    homebound.

    Manna Ministry- The next Manna mobile food pantry will be on Friday, May 22 from 10:00 a.m. to noon or when food runs out. The location is St. John’s United Church of Christ, 516 North Colorado Street, Burton. New enrollments are welcomed during the pantry for Wash ington County residents who already receive  SNAP, Chip or Medicaid, who are experiencing an emergency, or who earn less than the income guidelines: Income guidelines (through June 30):

    1 person in household, $23,107/year    2 people in household, $31,284/year

    3 people in household, $39,461/year 4 people in household, $47,638/year

    5 people in household, $55,815/year 6 people in household, $63,992/year

    7 people in household, $72,169/year 8 people in household, $80,346/year

    (Add $8,177 for each additional member)

  • Burton ISD-We are moving to a weekly meal and institutional packet pick up/drop off Monday, April 20th from noon to 1pm and Wednesday, April 22m from 5-6pm to accomodate everyone who cannot get here during the regular weekday. Food will be provided with storage and prep instructions for the week. The schedule will continue weekly until notified otherwise.   979-289-3131.   • Punky's Kitchen at the Burton Roadhouse-  It is with deep sadness that I have to announce that Punky's will no longer be able to provide take out service. Keeping doors open even for take out is expensive. On the bright side, it gave us the opportunity to finally get our pizza game going!! We look forward to reopening when all this is over with a new menu which will include some great Pizza! Please stay safe and keep everyone affected by this in your thoughts and prayers.
